CARe Project Webinar on 24 September 2025

The CARe (Capacity Building in Applied Public Health Research in GHPP partner countries) project invites you to their upcoming webinar led by Dr Leila Ghalichi on: Equitable Access to Quality Health Care for Injured People in Four Low- or Middle-Income Contries.

Publication Date:

Leila Ghalichi is a physician with a PhD in Epidemiology and a Senior Researcher at the University of Birmingham, UK. Her work focuses on global health initiatives to improve injury care in low- and middle-income countries. She previously served as Associate Professor and Research Deputy at the Psychosocial Health Research Institute, Iran University of Medical Sciences.

This webinar will introduce the project Equi-Injury, a global health research initiative. It is led by the University of Birmingham and funded by the UK’s National Institute for Health and Care Research. The project aims to improve equitable access to high-quality injury care in four low- and middle-income countries (Ghana, Pakistan, Rwanda, and South Africa). Its concept is underpinned by three cross-cutting pillars: community engagement, capacity building, and cross-country learning. Launched in August 2022, this health system evaluation explores the full pathway of injured patients. It entails the entire process from injury to three months post-discharge, providing a holistic understanding of care systems and informing the development of evidence-based interventions within and across partner countries.

The webinar will take place on WebEx on 24 September 2025 from 4 pm to 5 pm (CEST).
