CARe Project – Webinar on 23 April 2025

This webinar will focus on an overview of Field Epidemiology Training Programmes (FETP) in Africa and how they help support public health surveillance, field epidemiology, and response activity within ministries of health.

Bonheur Dounebaine is a Medical Epidemiologist with nearly 15 years of experience in Africa and the United States, working with organisations such as UNICEF, the World Health Organization, and the Emory University. His work spans disease surveillance, outbreak investigations, HIV/AIDS, immunisation and polio eradication, and further, health communication (C4D) and reproductive health. He also specialises in project management, training, and research in Primary Health Care and Global Health policies. A member and presenter at the American Public Health Association (APHA), he currently serves as Senior Technical Officer for Public Health Workforce Development at Africa CDC, where he supports National Public Health Institutes (NPHIs) and FETPs across the continent. Bonheur Dounebaine has built strong networks with partners and donors and is an active contributor to the African Epidemiology Association (AfEA).
